Greg came to FBC in 1998 as the Senior Pastor. He is a native Ohio-an born and raised in Newark. He and his wife Marla have two daughters, Stacy and Marissa, and three beautiful grandchildren. Greg’s life calling is to help build significant lives through teaching people how to implement God’s word in every area of their lives. His teaching style is very relaxed and practical.
Greg graduated from Mid-America Baptist Theological Seminary in Tennessee with a Doctor of Ministry degree, and also holds a Master of Divinity from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary and a psychology degree from Bluefield College in Virginia.
In his spare time, Greg loves to play golf and ride on his motorcycle with his wife Marla. Greg’s least favorite thing to do? Working in the yard. He loves the Rocky movies and pizza.
Barbara was born and raised in Columbus Ohio. She was a graduate of Groveport Madison High School in 1986 and a graduate of Nationwide Beauty Academy in 1987. She is a licensed cosmetologist who specialized in skin and nail care. She retired from this industry after 19 great years.
Barbara received Christ and was baptized at FBC in December of 1996, and she and her family have attended FBC ever since. After retiring from cosmetology, God had a new direction for her life and she joined the church staff in July 2006 as the Financial Administrator.
Barbara is married to Jim Reece. They were married in August 1989, and were blessed with 2 wonderful children (Austin and Briana). Barb and Jim have also been blessed with taking in homeless children over the years. One of those children Willie and his wife Elizabeth made us grandparents to 2 grandchildren. In 2018 we took in Cecelia and she brings our family so much joy! Our daughter Briana was married and in 2019 made us a grandparent again to a beautiful baby boy!
Her likes: Spending time with family and grand kids, Reese cups, Oreo ice cream, shoes, shopping and a clean house!
Her dislikes: mean people, liver and onions and a dirty house.
Her hobbies: motorcycle riding with husband, crafts, tangle-word puzzles and watching movies.
Phil was born and raised in Columbus, Ohio. He graduated from Independence High School in 1997. He has been a mailman since 1999. That same year Jesus saved him and made him into a new man. He considers his mail route his missionary field to share the gospel. He is a passionate teacher and strives to help others grow in their faith and love for Jesus. Phil has a great desire to serve others. Because of his great passion for teaching the truth of the gospel, he has taught in several different areas throughout his years at FBC. He has taught adult Bible study groups, children’s missions education, and men’s groups. His focus has now shifted to focusing on discipling teens and helping them become fully devoted followers of Christ.
Phil is married to his beautiful wife Carly. They have been married since 2019. They have seven children (four adults!) Carly works alongside Phil to minister to the Lighthouse Youth Group. He does the teaching while she coordinates events and keeps everything organized. Together, they strive to minister to the hearts and lives of every teen that God gives them the privilege of knowing.
Phil loves reading, hanging out with his kids, going on football trips with Carly, and spending time talking with everyone he can.
